My name is Linda Whitford, and I am a retired secondary math teacher. I taught at Grandview HS for 25 years and currently I am an adjunct professor of mathematics at JCCC. I hold education degrees from MWSU and NWMSU. I have been a member of the CSDCU since 1997 and a member of the Board of Directors for the past 15 years. During my tenure, our Board has been proactive and supportive of essential changes at CSDCU. Recently, much needed security and building renovations were completed, making a more protective, modern facility for our staff and members. Our Board also approved the recent acquisition of two area credit unions to broaden our membership and financial services. As a member of the Board, I am proud to have been part of the decision-making processes for these transformations and wish to continue to move CSDCU forward. With that, I am respectfully asking for your vote to continue as a member of the CSDCU Board.

I am seeking a position for the Board of Directors as a commitment to my community and my profession. I have lived in South Kansas City for over 24 years and am a long time member of the CSD Credit Union. I am the Lead Instructor for the Missouri Option high school program in the Hickman Mills School District. Prior to this position I served for seven years with the Center for Alternative Instructional Resources in the Grandview School District. I am also a retired Principal from the KCMSD. I gained a wealth of experience about credit union operations and finance when I served seven years on the Supervisory Board for the Teachers’ Credit Union that became the CommunityAmerica Credit Union. I hold a B.S in Business Management from UMKC and a M.S. in Organization Development from Webster University. Plus an Educational Specialist and Ph.D from UMKC in Urban Leadership and Policy Studies. I am willing to go the extra mile and be a valued asset to the Board.

I am honored to be nominated to serve on the CSDCU Board of Directors. Along with numerous family members, I have been a member of CSDCU for many years. After reading about my business background and commitment to community service, I would appreciate your vote. During my career, I have held a number of leadership positions at Kaiser Permanente, BCBSKC and at CareSource. I graduated from UMKC with a BS degree in Pharmacy and from Rockhurst University with an MBA. I enjoy volunteering and am involved in both community and professional organizations. This includes preparing tax returns for the elderly through the AARP Foundation, being Committee Chairman for Scout Troop 255 for over 10 years, member of our Home Owner Association Architectural Review Committee, volunteering at food distributions, House of Bread community kitchen and the Shoes 4 the Shoeless. As a member of the Board of Directors, I will ensure that the CSDCU continues to serve its members by providing the services and programs that members need while ensuring compliance with governing rules and regulations.
